Florida Police Officers responded to a scene at a hotel room in Miami Beach involving a man who overdosed on Methamphetamine.  Much to their surprise, previously hopeful democrat Gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum was also at the scene.

The police reports states that Gillum was so inebriated he couldn't even communicate with officers.  While Gillum was throwing up in the bathroom, one of the other 2 men in the room collapsed and began having trouble breathing, and the 3rd man called 911. The Daily Mail obtained alleged photos of the hotel room where the incident took place.

Gillum initially denied being involved in any drug use but would later publicly announce he was stepping down from his public roles and seeking guidance and treatment at a rehab center.

Gillum was quoted in an interview saying:

“Since my race for governor ended, I fell into a depression that has led to alcohol abuse. I witnessed my father suffer from alcoholism and I know the damaging effects it can have when untreated. I also know that alcoholism is often a symptom of deeper struggles. I am committed to doing the personal work to heal fully and show up in the world as a more complete person.”

Surprisingly, no arrests were made and the Miami Police for whatever reason are not treating this as a criminal matter.
